This call and response greeting originates from the ancient Mayan greeting, In Lak’ech. This is the English translation of that greeting by poet Luís Valdez.
Annual winners make-respect-cool-again Challenge will receive $2,500 in prize money, plus the Global Respect Award for that year, and social media coverage from Spiritual Playdate.
In 2026, the Global Respect Award went to the Little Angels of Mary in Guatemala. This school provides education and nutrition to children in a rural village in Guatemala, which has one of the highest rates of childhood malnutrition in the world.
Donate to help fund the Global Respect Award 2027! Prize money will be awarded to a group that promotes respect and empathy to help them with their work.
The contest is open to anyone of any age, including adults, teens, and/or kids with parental permission. Any of these parties who are interested in promoting unity and interconnectedness through Spiritual Playdate Respect Code Call & Repeat may participate.
