Shefali Ajmera is a Jain educator, activist, and filmmaker and also an artist who paints on Jain religious themes. She dedicates herself to promoting the understanding and practice of compassion and ahimsa or nonviolence as central teachings of the Jain religion. She is the founder and President of Ahimsa Way of Life, a non-profit organization based in the U.S., and curates the art gallery of the Jain Center of America. She is also the international coordinator for Pramanik Samuh, a community of devotees of Munishri Praman Saagarji Maharaj, a spiritual leader and monastic of the Digambar Jain tradition. In 2021 she started the on-line NRI Pramanik Pathshala which operates globally in all time zones. with a live teacher so that any person from the ages of three to ninety years can learn Jain philosophy in their own global location and age group. Shefali frequently presents online creative, unique shows, internationally on ecological balance and care for the Earth, the empowerment of women, food and health, and children’s education. She has an MBA degree from the International Institute of Professional Studies, DAVV, Indore ( MP), India and previously served as a financial advisor at Metlife until 2017. Originally from India, she lives in the New York area with her husband and son.
