My faith base is Islam. I am a member of the Muslim Community Center and believe we all can be better neighbours by sharing our commonalities and building bridges to help each other understand the differences. I am very involved in interfaith work by being the VP of the Winnetka Interfaith Council and a member of the Wilmette Interfaith Religious Leaders. By trade, I am an adjunct professor at Benedictine University and also work for Northwestern University Center for Talent Development in the education department. My passion is quality education for all. I am a practicing Muslim who believes in building bridges between all our faiths to help us understand our differences, so we can move past the differences and connect as neighbors. Getting the youth involved is a passion of mine because the youth are not the future leaders, but present leaders. Getting the youth actively involved in their passions and from the planning process gives them the empowerment to see how vital their involvement is.
