Kavitha Ramachandran, her mother, Mrs. Visalakshi Ramachandran and her other family members has been in the practice of promoting positive, healthier lifestyle and spirituality in children through their play-based activities and initiatives. For example, they collaborated with Babanjali Temple of Arts, and Queen Bee’s Shining Stars - after school activities in India to promote: Indian classical dance styles, music, plays, yoga, martial arts, Vedic chants in Sanskrit, Tamizh literary readings, arts and crafts, culture, traditional games, story telling, healthy cooking, positive talk and care for the environment and many more activities for children. Some of these trained children have showcased their talents in the local, regional and international events.
Kavitha is a health advocate, professional and an award-winning leader who walks the talk for the past 16 years. Her personal and professional commitment to health and healing at every level is based on a combination of integrative, traditional and functional nutrition, positive lifestyle, spirituality, and harmonious living with the nature. She used to regularly contribute to health and wellness articles for India’s leading English national and local newspapers when she managed wellness centres in her hometown prior to moving to her new home in Canada. She strongly believes that good or optimal health is within the reach of every individual, community and nation that focuses on emotional, physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and environmental health. She further affirms that balance in these areas and harmonious living with one another will be one of the greatest strengths for any country’s progress and prosperity.
Kavitha is grateful to serve as a Board member for Saskatoon Mother’s Centre which mainly comprised of Indigenous mothers and children. Her passion is to continue to support, promote human values, and work alongside with Indigenous communities who are currently under-represented in every field in the country. Kavitha is a PhD candidate in Community Health and Epidemiology at the University of Saskatchewan. She is an internationally trained dietitian who is originally from India where she received her master’s degrees in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Service Management from the University of Madras.
As Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba (Revered Spiritual Guru) said, “Love All, Serve All”; “Help Ever, Hurt Never”; and “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu means May All the Beings in All the Worlds Be Happy!” Kavitha regularly participates in spiritual events called Athi Rudra Maha Yagna or Yatra (i.e. pilgrimages) where she joins with Sathya Sai Baba devotees around the globe to offer prayers for world peace. Her belief is that All Religions are True and the Role Modeling of Unconditional Love and Selfless Service to Humanity will bring in Positivity and Peacefulness in the World.
